About Dahn

Hi, amazing you. Thank you for finding your way here.

My name is Dahn Elle Dior Ballard — and yes, I am a lot of things. But if you trace every single one of them back to their root, you find the same belief sitting there quietly at the center:

Healed people heal people.

That conviction is why I became a relationship coach — helping clients restore peace, order, and joy not just in their romantic relationships, but in their relationships with their children, their families, and most importantly, themselves. Through one-on-ones, workshops, and classes, I hold space for the kind of inside work that changes everything on the outside.

And I mean everything.

Because what happens inside our homes doesn't stay there. The way we see ourselves shapes the way we see our neighbors. The way we love our children shapes the way they move through a world that will not always be kind. Healed people don't just build better relationships — they build better communities, better schools, and a more humane world.

That belief is what led me to social justice work. For over a decade, my husband Alimi and I have led workshops and assemblies in schools across the country — bringing that same inside-out philosophy into classrooms. It's what drove us to create How to Survive an Alien Invasion, a cinematic 6–12 SEL curriculum helping students recognize, resist, and rewrite narratives of dehumanization. The Red Dot Experiment is for 4-7th, a social justice learning tool designed to deepen understanding of discrimination and open pathways forward, and “I am a Dream,” focusing on 1-5th, building self-esteem and watering seeds for a bright future.

The thread running through all of it is the same thread that runs through my coaching practice — when we understand our own humanity, we are far more capable of seeing it in someone else.

I am also an actor and writer, recognized by AT&T as a Future Black Leader, and I serve on the Parent Board of the Human Rights Campaign. I speak on podcasts and panels nationwide on relationships, social justice, and the radical act of choosing to show up as your full, authentic self.

So whether you found me through coaching, through the curriculum, through a podcast, or through a random corner of the internet — welcome. You are in the right place.

Healed people heal people. Let's start with you.
